Reflective Essay: Finished Product
It seems that no matter how many times students are advised to proofread their reflective essays, they never do it. Probably, reading over the final reflective essay is the most important thing you should do. We advise that you should read over your reflective essay some time later after you finished writing. Try to read it aloud to find out how it sounds. Below you will find advice on how to edit your essay.
Cleaning Up
- Check whether the pages of your essay are formatted according to your tutor’s instructions. Standard reflective essays are double-spaced, with 1 inch margins all around, and page numbers. However, some tutors have another instructions;
- Make sure the words are written with capital letters where necessary; that the headings are bold typed where necessary;
- Check the abbreviation. It should be explained in words.
Footnotes and Endnotes
It is vitally important that you should refer the sentences or groups of sentences and phrases taken from any source to the source itself. The quotations should be formatted in correspondence to the rules of required formatting style as well, otherwise, the phrase taken from the source will be considered as plagiarism.
Bibliography
When checking the bibliography page of your essay, pay special attention to the punctuation. Standard essay bibliography list is made in alphabetic order.
Title Page
If you are not assigned to make a title page, it will be rather a good idea to make it. Though, in majority of cases tutors give instructions on the essay title page formatting.
